For as long as I can remember, I have spent each summer break immersed in books. I would spend hours on our back porch and delve into page after page, devouring anything that came into my grasp.
As the years passed I grew infatuated with the different voices I encountered. The voices of characters, authors, philosophers, journalists–each one encouraged me to find a voice of my own. My high school and college years have been an adventure in honing this voice, and now I find myself in a place where my voice, my words, my craft will be tested.
Now that I’ve finished my junior year, I have a little less than a month before I start my editorial internship at a brokerage firm. These 28 days will be like a miniature summer break for me–my last one in my academic career–and I intend to make the best of it. To keep my voice in tune, starting on Wednesday, May 8, I will write and publish something every day.
